最近bluehost的ftp上传好慢,不知道其他人如何

RT,真的不是一般的慢..急死人啦!
而且打包上传也慢的很,经常卡在ftp读取目录文件列表上...
不过blue的服务好像不错,经常收到他们的信,今天有收到了一封...

Dear Bluehost.com Customer,
We finally have some good news to report. After literally months of research into
system performance techniques and I/O tuning we have rolled out a series of changes
to our servers that have immediate and beneficial effects. By the time you read this
the server that hosts your website should have a decreased server load of between
100-300%. This means that for those users that experienced constant performance
problems with our server speeds that your problems should be significantly reduced.
Of course this isn't a magic bullet, and we still have servers that have load spikes and
other various problems and issues that go hand in hand with providing shared hosting
services. We should have more good news to report in the coming weeks and there
is still much to be done to provide better uptime with fewer interruptions to critical services.
Also, as many of you may know a few months back we leased a new datacenter that is
solely for our use and is only 200 yards from our offices. It will allow us to grow to nearly
2,000 servers before requiring additional space. This is a huge long term benefit for us
as almost all hosting companies outsource their servers to a datacenter that is not under
their control. The downside is that it has been painful as we move all our servers to this
location. Downtime and unforeseen problems have been a big part of this migration process.
I wanted to let you know that the end is in sight. Most of the servers have been moved,
and all of the mission critical portions of our network have now been moved. Most of our
intermittent downtime has been because of this enormous move.
Things are improving and long term problems are starting to subside. Thanks for sticking
with us as we look forward to the continuation of improvements that are sure to come!

I am writing today to let you know some of the issues we have
been dealing with lately and how we plan on handling them. The
primary concern all of our users have is uptime and speed. Of
course service is extremely important as well, but day to day
speed and uptime is paramount. I am writing today to discuss
mostly the cpu and overall performance of our individual servers.
When Bluehost first started our goal was to provide the fastest
servers for the lowest price. In the past 12 months our server
speeds have gone from very fast to average and in some cases poor.
This is not because we are jamming too many users on a server or
because we don't buy the best equipment it is because of one
reason and that is SPAM. Spam is the plague of the internet, but
in our case it is even worse. Cpanel, our end user control panel,
requires that each individual server run its own inbound mail
server. This is a huge problem when your webpages and database
server are on the same server with your inbound mail. Cpanel
forces this design and for now it is something we have to deal
with. That being said, we will not tolerate and just "put up
with" slower server speeds.
Over the next several weeks several changes will be made to reduce
the number of spam we receive as well as the way mail is handled
on our servers. We don't anticipate that many of these changes
will require any efforts on your part, but we want you to be
aware that we are working on these speed issues.
The first change that we are implementing is to turn off "catchall"
email functions for everyones domain. Before you get upset let
me tell you that we aren't removing the functionality for our
current users. In the past this option was on for many users as
the default option. In retrospect that was a poor choice on our
part. We are rectifying that now. On Thursday January 18th at
10:00pm we will begin turning this option off for all our users.
If you specifically need this option (Which 99% of you will NOT
need) then at that time please turn it back on from within the
control. For those that do use it I would urge you to eliminate
the need for catchalls.
Spammers are actively targeting domains with catchalls to use as
return email addresses for their spam. Approximately 30 days from
this notice we will begin moving all accounts that use catchall
emails onto the same set of servers to insulate them from other
user accounts and to avoid problems for the other 99% of Bluehost
customers that don't need this functionality.
Thanks for your patience during this time. I refuse to let the
filth that peddle their wares through spam to affect the performance
of our servers any more. In the next few weeks we will announce
several speed improvements that are almost done now as well as
any other mail related issues that may need your attention.
