Actually, DreamHost used to be very good and I have had accounts with them myself with little or no problems. More lately

they have got some bad feedback, though.

IX... is a host that has relly poor reputation as far as I have seen in various places.

There are other hosts that would likely be better choices.

Need Some Wisdom from the Hosting Lords "ixwebhosting is crap"

Hello all

So this is where it begins. I have been with a hosting company called IXWEBHOSTING for just under a year. I have their

ultimate package and I have been talking with these people for over 7 months now and got no where.

This is what I have experiencd.

Every day my sites go down. Out of 16 sites which I am allowed I have 2 up and running and they keep going down. Sometime I

get the message saying that the MYSQL server has gone down.

The sites are so slow. I have wait any where between 10 – 60 seconds for the first page to come up

I have also had the 404 error and then a few minutes later everything is back online. AND THIS IS ON NORMAL HTML PAGES ARRRGH

In other words ixwebhosting is a nightmare.

I am located in the UK and the IX Server are located in the US. I am not sure if this is a problem however please advise

These are my requirements

Budget – Between £20 – £40 a month
Hosting server must be FAST FAST FAST
50+ Websites
100GB – 500GB Bandwidth
SSL
PHP MYSQL

Any advice please

If you used some of the free domain name registrations that come with their plans, or bought a domain name through them and

do not want to continue the registration with them, you will need nerves of steel, lots of patience, be able to deal with

their "staff" etc.
One is able to change the nameservers, but they like to force you to keep an account with them, even if it is just to renew

your domain names.
It is easy to back up with them, just use their file manager, tick the domain, and it will compress all the files and let you

download it.

bad experience with ixwebhosting



I'm just sharing some hosting experience with everybody so that some
unhappyness could be avoid.

I have hosted with ixwebhosting for half a year,
well, except the speed and database connection is quite slow,
everything else was ok untill yesterday.

They was upgrading their database version yesterday without pre-notice,
and some problems with my database occured. Before I hosted with
ixwebhosting, I asked them whether they would notice their customers before upgrading their database, and they gave a

absolutely positive answer.
I asked this because my forum database can not well compatible with mysql 4.1.

Well, in fact, they did not inform me about this, and so I don't have a chance
to backup my database and prepare for upgrading. An even more queer thing
is I ask their consultant were they upgrading their database version, and they
said no, they said it just under normal maintainence, and will be back soon. And today, it terms out that the database

version has been upgraded.

The most unhappy thing is, when I was arguing this with their live consultant,
they just unpolitely closed the live session!!!! What the hell this service is!!!

have the same owner. Now, you could argue that they're the best because the ownership is so professional, but that doesn't

explain how the only two hosts listed on that site, that are not linked to via affiliate redirects, are these exact 2 hosts,

does it?

我的总结：
多数回答是：Big oversellers like IX are never reliable， 可以用来转卖的空间是不值得信任的。

初中英语基础，加上翻译软件即指即译，看个8 9不离10应该不是问题

现在感觉难以取舍了，国内合租空间，一年1k多钱，日ip10万也用过（不过那时老挂，不知和我的站有没有关系），价格来说，和国外的也差不多，但速度肯定是国内快。
国内有二点不爽：
1 备案
2 功能限制较多, 比如只支持几十个二级域名

曾经买过，算是比较垃圾的，后来退款了，需要验证，速度一般，如果你没有大量独立ip的需要，建议不要买。
1小时回复的保证从来没有遵守过。

国外评价和访问速度不是很好，但是在国内的访问速度还是不错的
我有好几个网站用的是他们的空间，还不错，就是CGI容易出错。

一般用live chat联系他们的。服务还是hostgator的最好
