Hi,
This email is to inform customers on Eir server that we are changing the main server IP to a new IP currently today (June 12 2007). The new IP will be the following one:
74.50.6.225
There is nothing you would need to do on your part to change your domain to this new IP on Eir as we will be updating all sites using the shared server IP to the new one of 74.50.6.225. If you are not using our DNS nameservers but pointing to the IP directly at your domain registrar or via a dynamic DNS service, please update the IP to the new one today at that domain registrar or dynamic DNS provider.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to you due to any caching to the old IP as well as the prior latency on the server due to the hgih incoming traffic on the old IP. This IP change is intended to correct that issue and provide stability to Eir and your sites on the server.
Please note that the following steps might be useful after the IP has changed to ensure you are able to reach your site and are not cached to the old IP any longer:
1. clear all browser cookies, cache/temporary internet files, and history.
2. update all bookmarks related to the domain you are attempting to access.
3. reload the browser.
4. try accessing the domain(s) using http://www.megaproxy.com/freesurf/ or http://www.proxify.com/ or http://www.anonymizer.com
5. Windows 2000/XP and MAC users, please clear your DNS cache by doing:
Windows XP and 2000 users:
a. go to start > run
b. type: ipconfig /flushdns
MAC users:
a. open a terminal window
b. type: lookupd -flushcache
Windows 98/98SE/ME users:
there is no dns cache flush option on these operating systems.(restarting pc may help).
If you still cannot access your domain using the above after the IP changes, then please provide a traceroute (instructions as follows):
Windows XP/2000
1. Go to Start > Run...
2. Enter cmd and click OK.
3. At the prompt, type tracert yourdomainname and hit enter.
Windows ME/98/98SE
1. Go to Start > Run...
2. Enter command and click OK.
3. At the prompt, type tracert yourdomainname and hit enter.
You could then provide the traceroute to us via email at support@lunarpages.com
Thank you,
