With the Unlimited Hosting plan, you only receive a free SSL with the purchase of brand new hosting plans. If you would like to keep your SSL, you will need to renew it.Renewing your SSL is a multiple-step process that varies depending on your certificate type and where you host your website. Even if your SSL auto-renews, you must still apply the renewal credit.
You can purchase and apply SSL renewal credits during a 90-day renewal window: 60 days prior to the expiration date through 30 days past the expiration date.
Example: If the certificate expires June 15, you can purchase and apply the renewal credit April 15 to July 15.
After you purchase a renewal credit or your SSL auto-renews, you must apply the credit to your expiring SSL. If the SSL expires and the renewal credit is not applied within the 90-day renewal window, the previously-secured website will display an error message.
To Renew Your SSL Certificate
Log into your Account Manager.
From the My Products section, click SSL Certificates.
A list of your common names displays. Click the common name you need to renew.
On the right in Account Details, select how long you want to renew from the Renewal Length drop-down menu.
Click Continue, and complete the transaction for your renewal.
After the transaction is complete, return to your SSL certificates list.
Click Manage Certificate for the certificate you want to renew.
Click Credits.
Click Request Certificate for the renewal credit you want to process.
Complete and confirm the certificate renewal application.
If you have a Premium Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate, you might need to submit additional documents. We will contact you with more details if this is necessary.
After your renewed SSL certificate is issued, install it on your website:
If you host your website with us, we automatically install your certificate.
If you host your website on a dedicated server or with another provider, we send you an email message with a link to download the signed certificate and our intermediate certificates. You must download and install both files on your Web server. See SSL Installation Instructions for installation instructions. |
