- Hello,
- We would also need to know the following before we can proceed with the switch:
- Current primary domain - Do you wish us to remove it entirely, park it on the account for you, or have it as an addon on the account (if you want it to be an addon, we will provide instructions after we switch the domain for you)?
- New primary domain - Is it currently parked on the account or an addon on the account? Has it ever been parked or an addon domain on the account? If it's parked or an addon domain, please remove this from the Parked Domains or Addon Domains area of cPanel.
- Do you have an SSL certificate on your account, and do you wish the new primary domain to have the certificate associated with it?
- Do you have JSP or ASP activated on the account, and which domain do you want to have associated with the JSP or ASP?
- Do you have WebBuilder enabled on the account?
- If so, please note that any work you have done in your current web builder account will be permanently lost. Please also note, that we no longer offer the paid Webbuilder option, and would not be able to re-enable it on the new primary domain, and we can arrange to have this cancelled for you on the account. We do provide a new webbuilder option called Pagemason through ypur CAP panel that is free, easy to manage, and install. If you would like more information about this new webbuilder option let us know.
- Do you have any custom MX records on the account? For which domain and what are they currently set to?
- Once we have this information, we would be happy to perform this request for you.
- The basic plan includes unlimited parked domains and 10 add ons
- The difference between a Parked domain and Add on domain is explained below.
- A parked domain is an additional domain that points to the main directory of your account. You can park an unlimited number of domains at no cost.
- A parked domain will resolve to the same content as your primary domain name.
- Say your primary is blah.com and you park bleh.com
- In the address bar if you type bleh.com it will resolve to blah.com but in the address bar you will see bleh.com. This is a parked domain.
- An add on domain allows you to run a separate web site to your primary domain. All Basic and Business plan accounts come with 10 free add on domains at signup. When you setup an add on domain it makes a folder in your public_html folder and you upload the site content into that folder. Essentially you are then running 2 separate sites, separate content, off one account.
- I hope this helps. If you require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
- Thanks.
