Sheer number shouldn't be a problem but if you need to upload large (high
resolution) pictures which are over 10 megabytes you might have to setup
your own PHP. Also it is more on how busy (how many vistors) your site
gets not the amount of pictures. The amount of pictures shouldn't have a
huge impact on performance (unless you are talking about hundreds of
thousands which aren't organized). Please let me know if you have any
additional questions about this.
